Stage1: Includes DI in Hospitals and IHFs
Ontario Government includes Non-Emergency DI in Hospitals and IHFs in Stage 1 Recovery Announcement
The Ontario Government has just announced a detailed list of Stage 1 Openings that includes non-emergency diagnostic imaging and surgeries in public hospitals, Independent Health Facilities, clinics and private practices to resume based on their ability to meet specified pre-conditions included in the MOH framework announced last week. This Stage 1 announcement will be effective May 19, 2020.
A significant amount of OAR background work and communications with government has facilitated the commencement of radiology service delivery so that it would be included in today’s Ford Government announcement. Ontario radiologists can be assured that important work on behalf of our specialty has been heard and this will continue to happen as we prepare to provide a soon-to-be-released initial guide on the resumption of DI services premised on safety for staff and patients.
The OAR Board would like to extend its deep appreciation to those members and groups that responded quickly with detailed information and assistance to our request regarding the resumption of DI in hospitals and IHFs.
See the link to the Ontario government statement.
More details will be provided as greater clarity becomes available.
